WVU Keyser ACT On-Campus

WVU Keyser is hosting an ACT On-Campus tests on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn how to register today.

The free ACT On-Campus testing opportunity at participating West Virginia college campuses is an initiative funded by federal CARES Act funding allocations from the state budget in effort to give current freshman the opportunity to take the ACT On-Campus test at no cost so they may qualify for the WV PROMISE Scholarship .

WVU is hosting the ACT On-Campus testing opportunities at each of its three campuses in Morgantown, Beckley and Keyser. Scores will be shared between the three WVU campuses, so students are encouraged to register for the test location closest to their home, regardless of which of WVU’s three campuses the student is interested in attending.

How to Register

Test Day Details for WVU Keyser

The test will be given in Academy Hall on WVU Keyser's campus.

Parking

Parking is accessible in any parking lot around campus. The physical address of Academy Hall is 101 Fort Avenue, Keyser, WV 26726.

Checking In

There will be a check in table as students first enter the front door of Academy Hall.

Students should plan to arrive between 9:15 - 9:45 a.m.

Students MUST wear a mask and bring No. 2 pencils and an ACT regulation calculator.

Students should also be prepared to show a valid ID and provide the last 4 digits for their Social Security number. Valid forms of ID include a driver's license, DMV card, current Potomac State College ID and passport.

Classrooms are handicapped accessible. Examiners are encouraged to dress in layers as classroom temperatures may be cold or hot.

Who is eligible for the free ACT On-Campus test?

Students must meet the following criteria to qualify for the free ACT On-Campus test opportunity: They must be 2021 current college freshman who have applied or are applying for the merit-based PROMISE Scholarship and do not have a qualifying ACT or SAT test score for PROMISE.

How can I register for the WVU ACT On-Campus test?

Students can register for the WVU ACT On-Campus exam for any of the three campus locations (Morgantown, Keyser or Beckley) at https://admissions.wvu.edu/act.

What will my WVU ACT On-Campus test scores be used to determine?

A student’s WVU ACT On-Campus test scores will be used to determine their eligibility for the PROMISE Scholarship.

Are a student’s scores from the WVU ACT On-Campus transferrable to other higher education institutions?

No, WVU cannot transfer a student’s scores from the WVU ACT On-Campus test to other higher education institutions. Scores can only be used to evaluate a student’s PROMISE scholarship eligibility.

Are a student’s scores from an ACT On-Campus test at a different West Virginia college campus transferrable to West Virginia University?

No, a student’s scores from an on-campus ACT exam hosted by a higher education institution different than WVU’s three campuses in Morgantown, Beckley and Keyser cannot be transferred to WVU for consideration.

What COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place?

Examiners will be required to wear a mask or face covering that covers both their nose and mouth in order to be admitted to the testing location. West Virginia University’s COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place in the exam location.

When is the registration deadlines for the WVU Keyser/Potomac State College ACT On-Campus test?

Registration will close 5 days prior to the Sunday, October 3, 2021 date (on Tuesday, September 27 at 11:59 p.m. EST).

Am I able to cancel or reschedule my registration for the ACT On-Campus test?

Yes, students are able to cancel their exam registration for Sunday, October 3, 2021. Students are encouraged to cancel 2 days prior to the exam date in order to give WVU adequate notice of their cancellation. Students can also contact WVU Morgantown’s ACT On-Campus Test coordinator, Jennifer Jones (jrjones@mail.wvu.edu), for further assistance.
